JTA President says Government’s decision to close all schools until April 13, a wise call amid surge in COVID-19 cases

President of the Teachers Association of Jamaica, Jasford Gabriel says he believes the Government’s decision to close all schools until April 13, is a wise decision.

 

Speaking with IRIE FM news, Mr. Gabriel notes that it is obvious that many students will be affected, however, the rise in cases and its impact on the health sector, cannot be ignored.

 

 

He says Jamaica must promote the available online platforms.

 

 

He is also reiterating his call for citizens to follow the health and safety protocols implemented by the Government to curb the spread of COVID-19.
