The management of the St. Anns Bay Hospital in St. Ann has implemented contingency measures to deal with patients seeking treatment at the accident and emergency department, due to a leaking roof.

Videos and photos of the leaking roof have been making the rounds on social media.

Chief Executive Officer, Delroy Morgan told Irie FM News that workmen were already in the process of repairing it, when the rains came.

Its hoped that, weather permitting, the roof can be fixed within the next few days.

Mr. Morgan explained that some patients have been sent to the health centre for treatment, while others have been given new visit dates.

He said while services have been scaled down, some patients are being attended to, in the sections not affected by the leaking roof.

So far, only parts of the department, such as the nurses station, leak.
