Member of Parliament for St. Ann South East, Lisa Hanna, has moved a resolution in the lower house for reggae icon Robert Nesta Marley to be declared a national hero.
The community of Nine Miles, Bob Marley’s birth and resting place falls within the constituency.
Speaking in parliament on Tuesday, Miss Hanna noted the role Bob Marley played, in making Jamaica globally recognized.
She also pointed to the reach and impact of Bob Marley’s music and his philosophies.
Miss Hanna said Bob Marley is already regarded as a hero, globally.
