The Health Ministry says the security of quarantine facilities will be beefed up after a man escaped from one of the facilities last evening.
The man was captured and returned to quarantine.
Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton says he will face prosecution.
The man arrived in the island on Saturday March 7 and was placed at the quarantine centre in Kingston.
He reportedly requested and was allowed to retrieve a bag with personal items from someone at the gate of the facility and whilst doing so he jumped into a white Tiida motor car which sped off with him.
According to the police corporate communications unit, following the issuing of a public advisory, lawmen received information that he was at a location in the Waltham Park area.
An operation was conducted and he was held in the company of a female.
Extensive investigations are now underway.
