Dancehall deejay Masicka has sparked online chatter across social media platforms after tweeting Sunday that music is too easy and he should study law.
Basking in the success of his album 4.3.8, Masicka, via Twitter he wrote, “Think me a go study law. Music alone too easy.”
Some fans were quick to encourage him. “Go for it if that’s what you want” one user wrote. While others were hasty to shade him. “Making music is easy but making money from music is hard”, one user shared. While another user tweeted, “Careful bro. Law ain’t for the faint of heart.”
The conversation continued on Instagram. On IG, one social media user said, “Great aspiration, but I’m here pondering if music is so easy why can’t we break barriers… Why can’t Dancehall surpass the Legendary Bob Marley?”
Masicka’s 4.3.8 is currently ranked at number two on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart.
Bob Marley and the Wailers is ranked number 1 for ‘Legend – The Best of Bob Marley and the Wailers’, Sean Paul’s Dutty ‘Classics Collection’ is 3, Shaggy’s ‘Best of Shaggy Boombastic Collection’ is 4, and Jason Marz rounds out the top 5 with ‘Look For the Good.’
