MOE says consultations on-going with CXC about 2021 regional exams

by December 8th, 2020

Education Minister, Fayval Williams says consultations are on-going with the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) as it relates to the conditions under which the delayed 2021 sitting of the regional exams will be held.

This year, CXC modified the format of the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (C-SEC) and the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) to accommodate students who had been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

It’s expected that while the exams will be delayed, they will return to their regular formats next year.

However, speaking at today’s sitting of Parliament, Mrs. Williams indicated that teachers have expressed some concerns regarding the exams, and as such the Ministry continues the negotiation with CXC.
