MOU signed to increase the speed of COVID-19 vaccine procurement for Jamaica

A Memorandum of Understanding, MOU, was signed this morning, to increase the speed of COVID-19 vaccine procurement for Jamaica, as part of a national effort, to enhance health security, and promote economic recovery.

 

The MOU was signed by the Ministry of Health and Wellness, the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica, Jamaica Manufacturers & Exporters Association, and the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce.

 

Speaking during the virtual signing ceremony, Health and Wellness Minister, Dr. Christopher Tufton says this private-public sector partnership,  will not compromise the arrangements stated in the country’s vaccination plan

 

He said, in fact, the MOU, will help to get persons within the vulnerable group, vaccinated more swiftly.

 

Stressing the importance of partnerships, Dr. Tufton says, the MOU, will help the country achieve the levels of health and well-being needed for the citizens.
