NCB assessing operations following attempted robbery of ATM

The National Commercial Bank, NCB, is assessing operations, to ensure that every measure is taken to protect the lives and safety of customers, staff and service providers.

This following the wounding of a security guard during the attempted robbery of an Automated Teller Machine, ATM, at Bank House Mall in Mandeville, Manchester, on Tuesday morning.

Reports are that about 2:00 a-m, the guard was on duty, when gunmen pounced upon him.

He was reportedly beaten in the face with a metal crowbar and then tied up.

The gunmen then dislodged the ATM, but were unsuccessful in removing it from the premises.

In a statement today, the n-c-b expressed regret at the unfortunate incident, adding that its praying for the guard’s full recovery.

The bank is also encouraging customers to utilise digital channels, such as online banking, and the mobile app, where possible.
