The National Water Commission says the value of a massive disconnection drive undertaken in Buckfield Ocho Rios, St. Ann today (April 19), is 15 million dollars.
This is a combination of arrears owed by customers, as well as water theft.
N-W-C Corporate Public Relations Manager Andrew Cannon says the drive targeted customers whose arrears of over $60,000 or those with outstanding balances over 90 days.
Mr. Cannon states that several illegal connections were discovered in the community.
He adds that a disconnection drive will also be carried out in St. Elizabeth.
