Opposition Senator Damion Crawford questions how SOEs can be effective, if police are restive

by November 25th, 2021

Opposition Senator Damion Crawford has questioned how the states of emergency can be effective, given that the police officers who are required to make the system work are restive.

Senator Crawford’s statement follows a demonstration today by rank and file members of the Constabulary who are discontented with their extended working hours and wages.

Speaking in the debate on the extension of the seven states of emergency, Mr. Crawford said police officers are overworked and dissatisfied with the possibility of another extended state of emergency.

Referring to this morning’s (November 25) demonstration, Mr. Crawford noted that effort must be made to address the issues affecting members of the Constabulary force.
