Over three hundred and fifty thousand US dollars (US$350,000) has been committed to boost Jamaicas capacity, to conduct Covid testing, especially for variants.

Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton while speaking in Parliament yesterday (April 21), pointed to the benefit of being able to carry out local testing, as the turn around time for samples sent to the Caribbean Public Health Agency, CARPHA is long.

He added that the US government has provided financial support for testing equipment at the national lab.
