The Economy and Production Committee of Parliament has recommended that government among other things, focus more attention on developing the waste to energy sector.
Committee Chairman Anthony Hylton presented the groups findings to Parliament yesterday.
The committee had examined various issues such as the Jamaica Public Service, Petrojam, and renewable energy.
Among the concerns noted by the committee were the incidents of power outages, and the report submitted by the JPS about the challenges the company faces.
The committee also had concerns about the upgrade of Petrojam.
These were the areas outlined in the recommendations.
