by September 9th, 2019

President of the People’s National Party PNP Dr. Peter Phillips has asked all Shadow Ministers to remain in place and continue to monitor their assigned portfolio until the reorganization process.

The request from Dr. Phillips, follows the resignation of several members of the Rise United team from the Shadow Cabinet.

In a statement today, (September 9) Dr. Phillips says the Shadow Cabinet will be reorganized following the party’s Annual Conference, on September 22.

He noted that following his re-election as Party President on Saturday, some members of the Shadow Cabinet, tendered their resignation as Shadow Ministers.

Dr. Phillips says in April, he had outlined plans to reshuffle the shadow cabinet at the end of the Parliamentary Sectoral Debate, but, the internal presidential election intervened and that exercise was postponed.

Meantime, Dr. Peter Phillips, continues to express confidence that the party will be united.

He emerged victorious at the internal election held on Saturday, after a presidential challenge by Peter Bunting, which raised the issue of unity within the party, after a tough election campaign.

Dr. Phillips told Irie Fm News that, members of the One PNP and Rise United teams will put the people of the country first.

He is to meet with Peter Bunting tomorrow (September 10).

When asked what measures he would take to settle the divide with some members of the Rise United Movement, Dr. Phillips says, emotions will flare, but the first step, is to allow time to heal all wounds.
