Prime Minister Andrew Holness is projecting that Jamaica’s room stock could reach 50 thousand hotel rooms in the next ten years.
Mr. Holness says with the current peak in tourism investments and the stable outlook for the economy, existing room stocks will increase significantly from 33 thousand hotel rooms currently.
The prime minister noted that with Jamaica’s now stable macro-economic outlook, investors can have peace of mind.
The prime minister says with the macro-economy now stable, the government must work to improve the speed of business and project implementation in not just the tourism industry, but all other sectors.
He was speaking at the ground breaking ceremony for the New Ocean Coral Spring Hotel in Trelawny, this morning (February 6).
