Prime Minister Andrew Holness says unless there is deeper cooperation among countries and fairer and broader views of common interests, expectations for an end to the Covid crisis should be tempered

Speaking at a high-level meeting on the international debt architecture and liquidity this morning (March 29), Mr. Holness added that an uneven and un-equitable global vaccination programme will lead to an uneven global recovery and reinforcement of poverty.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister says, developing countries require a combination of debt relief and a major injection of liquidity.

Andrew Holness, is calling for the debt service suspension initiative, to expand its services to countries that are most in need.

Mr. Holness is proposing that credit rating agencies are also brought into the discussion around debt treatment.
