PNP announces changes to Shadow Cabinet

The People’s National Party, PNP, has announced several changes to its shadow cabinet.

The new shadow cabinet consists of 20 people, up from the 19 that was announced in 2020.

Among the notable changes is the removal of Dr. Angela Brown Burke as Opposition Spokesperson on Education and Training. Senator Damion Crawford now has that responsibility.

Dr. Brown Burke now shadows the Labour and Social Security Ministry, which was previously the remit of Senator Dr. Floyd Morris.

Dr. Morris is now overseeing Housing and Sustainable Living.

Other changes include the removal of Gender Affairs from Senator Donna Scott Mottley’s portfolio, she is now Opposition Spokesperson on Information and Justice.

Denise Daley is no longer Spokesperson for Local Government and Community Development, instead she will oversee Gender, Culture and Social Transformation.

Local Government and Community Development, has been lumped with Sports which falls under the remit of Natalie Neita-Garvey who was not a member of the previous cabinet.

Neita-Garvey is also Deputy Leader of Opposition Business in the House.

Meanwhile, Phillip Paulwell returns as Leader of Opposition Business in the House of Representatives.

He replaces Anthony Hylton who held the position for the past year and a half.
