by January 9th, 2021

The police are assessing the situation in Trench Town, Kingston, to determine if there is a need to extend the curfew in the area.

The curfew was imposed on Thursday (January 7) and is expected to end this evening.

Head of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, JCF‘s Communications Unit, Senior Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay, says the area remains tense, following recent shootings and reprisal attacks, linked to gang related conflict, as well as the arrest of some suspects.

She says the risk assessment of the threat is ongoing.
