Police have charged a woman who was held with the baby boy stolen from the Victoria Jubilee Hospital last month.

28 year old Peta-Gaye French has been charged with child stealing.

Crime Chief for the Kingston Western Police, Inspector Phillip Dodd told Irie Fm news that French faced an identification parade this afternoon (February 11).

Inspector Dodd says she will appear in court later this week to answer to the charge.

On January 9 Suzzett Whyte and Sinclair Hutton’s baby was snatched from the Victoria Jubilee Hospital.

However last week French showed up at the Registrar General Department, RGD in Twickenham Park, St. Catherine attempting to register the child, but was unable to provide officials at the RGD with the relevant information required for registration.

The police were alerted and she was taken into custody.

Mr. Hutton and his common-law wife were then asked to have a DNA test done which revealed that they were the child’s rightful parents.

Arrangements were later made by the Child Protection and Family Services Agency to reunite the parents with their baby at the Denham Town Police Station in Kingston on Friday.
