Political Ombudsman calls meeting following altercation in Clarendon

Political Ombudsman, Donna Parchment Brown is set to meet with the two main persons involved in an altercation while campaigning in Hayes Clarendon, recently.

This after the Jamaica Labour Party, JLP filed a complaint to Mrs. Parchment Brown, claiming that one of its supporters, was attacked allegedly by persons aligned to the People’s National Party, PNP, while campaigning in South East Clarendon for a by-election slated for March 2.

The JLP‘s Pearnel Charles Junior is challenging independent candidate, Dereck Lambert for the seat.

The PNP is not contesting the seat.

In detailing the incident in Clarendon, the JLP explained that one of its supporters was trying to videotape the altercation, and was attacked, and sustained injuries.

It says the matter has been reported to the police.

Mrs. Donna Parchment Brown told Irie Fm News that the two persons at the forefront of the incident are to attend a meeting at the her office, on Wednesday (February 26).

She has also written to the General Secretaries of both parties to attend a meeting on Wednesday afternoon.
