President of the Port Trailer Haulage Association, Ricardo Valentine says a meeting with the management of the Kingston Terminal and other stakeholders this afternoon, (January 29) was fruitful.
This after tractor trailer haulers operating at the Kingston container terminal withdrew their services earlier today, after being restive for a while.
The haulage contractors are reportedly upset about the slow turnaround time at the terminal.
This problem they claim is caused by lengthy vetting, breakdown of the terminal operating system and slow scanning.
Mr. Valentine says the meeting held with representatives from the terminal, the Port Authority of Jamaica and Jamaica Customs ended with an agreement being reached.
He is hopeful that the truckers will resume regular duties soon.
