Prime Minister Holness rejects notion that politicians are destroying the country

Prime Minister Andrew Holness has rejected the notion that he or any other politician has entered politics with the intention to destroy the country.

During an event yesterday (May 28) to commemorate the 93rd birthday of Former Prime Minister Edward Seaga, Mr Holness commented on the refusal of some Jamaicans to carry out civic duties, due to the notion that many politicians are corrupt.

He chided those who try to undermine the value of the political process, noting that refusal to participate will not improve the circumstances of citizens.

He urged young people to take a positive outlook on politics, and not be deterred by older persons who choose to maintain a negative perspective.
