Programme aimed at keeping babies zero to 3 years out of children’s homes, coming soon

by January 13th, 2021

In the coming weeks, the Ministry of Youth will roll out a programme to ensure that babies, between the ages of zero and 3 years, will not be living in children’s homes.

State Minister for Youth, Robert Morgan, says it is important that children in that age group, be with a family, to promote greater mental, emotional and physical development.

He says, the Ministry is working with the child protection and family services agency, CPFSA, on the programme.

He adds that the Ministry is also seeking ways to fast track the Adoption Act.

He was speaking during the handing over ceremony of 200 tablets for children in state care at the CPFSA‘s Kingston Office, yesterday (January 12).
