The Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica, PSOJ, is condemning recent outbursts from political affiliates, which it says could be damaging to the country and investor confidence.
President of the PSOJ, Howard Mitchell, is cautioning the political directorate that Jamaica’s fragile investor confidence, which has recently shown growth and improvement, is not immune to negative outbursts from politicians.
He says how the country manages its politics reflects on all aspects of the society including commerce.
As such, he is calling on Jamaicans to condemn and shun politicians who promote divisiveness, whether on political platforms or in the Houses of Parliament.
The PSOJ President’s appeal comes against the background of divisive statements made by high ranking members of the People’s National Party.
At least one of the statements seemed to indicate that members of the opposing Jamaica Labour Party would not be welcomed in a particular PNP constituency.
