Director of the road safety unit, Kenute Hare continues to appeal to motorists and pedestrians to be cautious on the nation’s roadways.
His plea has intensified, following four fatal collisions over the weekend which left eight people dead. The latest accident occurred on the Old Harbour road in St. Catherine this morning.
These deaths bring to 241 the number of people killed in traffic accidents since the start of the year. Eleven deaths have occurred in the ten days so far in September.
Hare says it’s important that motorists wear the necessary safety devices at all times.
He is also challenging passengers not to tolerate reckless driving.
