Dancehall deejay Rygin King remains hospitalized in stable condition, after being shot and seriously injured on Sunday.
Music News understands that the 25-year-old, Montego Bay entertainer, was shot in the leg, and upper body on Sunday (June 28) afternoon.
According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force communication arm, CCU, a female, identified as Sasha Lee Blackwood, who was in the vehicle along with Rygin King, was also shot and has succumbed to her injuries.
The incident occurred about 3:18 p.m, in Struie district, Westmoreland on June 28.
Since news of the incident surfaced, several industry players including dancehall heavyweight Bounty Killer, Vybz Kartel, Jah Cure, and Producer Rvssian, via social media, have expressed that they are praying for Rygin King’s recovery.
Fans, friends, and well-wishers have also flooded social media platforms with messages of hope wishing the dancehall deejay a speedy recovery.
Rygin King’s management has issued a thank you note which states, “Thank you for your prayers and concerns. The family, friends, and management team of Rygin King are kindly requesting for privacy at this time as we continue and encourage everyone to pray for a speedy recovery.”
