The National Water Commission (NWC) says just under a quarter of the country’s water supply plants continue to be impacted by drought conditions.
Corporate Communications Manager at NWC, Charles Buchanan, says rural systems in the eastern end of the island are the most severely impacted.
Mr. Buchanan notes that compared to last year, water levels are extremely low.
Meantime, the NWC Communications Manager says improved levels at one of the corporate area facilities do not change the restrictions in effect.
He is urging customers to conserve in an effort to reduce the water demand while allowing more people to benefit from the water that is available.
