Two men have been charged in relation to gun seizures in separate incidents yesterday (January 22).
They are forty-four-year-old Mark Vozz of Burnt Savannah, Westmoreland and fifty-year-old wood worker Horace Kildare,of New River District, Stony Hill, St. Andrew.
In the latest incident, Vozz was arrested and charged following the seizure of a firearm and some ammunition at his home in Burnt Savannah.
Reports from the Frome police are that between 3 and 6 p.m., Lawmen were on operation in the area, when the premises occupied by Vozz was searched.
Police reportedly found a 380 automatic pistol, with three rounds of ammunition.
Vozz was taken into custody and charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
His court date is being finalised.
Over in Kingston, Kildare has been charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition and attempting to sell a firearm without a licence.
Reports are that about 9:00 a.m, lawmen were on operation on Mannings Hill Road, Kingston 8, when they saw Kildare driving a Toyota Corolla Axio motor car along the roadway.
Kildare was signalled to stop and he complied.
Police accosted Kildare and during a search police reportedly found one 9 millimetre Beretta Pistol, one 9 millimetre Trabzon pistol, two magazines and 36 rounds of ammunition.
Kildare’s court date is being finalised.
Meantime, in an unrelated incident, police recovered a Browning 9 millimetre pistol with a magazine containing eleven 9 millimetre rounds of ammunition, during an operation in Riverton City, Kingtson 11.
Reports from the Hunts Bay Police are that about 10:15 a.m., Lawmen were in the area when a premises was searched and the illegal firearm was seized.
No one was arrested in relation to this seizure.
And, a Taurus 9 millimetre pistol, with 17 rounds of ammunition, was seized on Text Lane, Kingston 4.
Reports are that about 7:27 a.m., Lawmen were on operation when a premises was searched and the weapon, with a magazine containing the ammunition, was found.
Another firearm was seized in St. James, but police have not provided details of this seizure.
Investigations are ongoing.
