The approved parents will receive $20,000 grants towards the purchase of laptops or tablets for their children to use for online learning.

Speaking in Parliament yesterday, (December 8) Mrs. Williams noted that the approved applicants were selected from among a total of over 16,000 applications.

Applicants have until December 31 to apply for the grants.

Meantime, the Education Minister noted that the income requirements have been updated to allow more persons to benefit.

The ministry will be hosting a virtual town hall meeting on its various social media platforms at 6 this evening (December 9).

Ministry personnel will be on hand to answer queries and address issues relating to the new school term.
