Stafanie Taylor named in West Indies 15 member squad for the upcoming T/20 World Cup in South Africa

Experienced Jamaican all rounder Stafanie Taylor has been named in the West Indies 15 member squad for the upcoming t/20 World Cup in South Africa which bowls off on February 10. 

However, Taylor, who has been out through injury, is  subject to a final fitness assessment. 

In the meantime, newcomers Zaida james, Trishan Holder and Djenaba Joseph are the three under 19 rising stars players who have been included to feature in the Windies women squad for the tournament, 

Four senior players who have been out through injury have also returned which includes, Taylor, Shakera Selman, Chinelle Henry and Chedean Nation. 

The full squad to be led by Hayley Matthews  with Shemaine Campbelle as (vice captain) is completed by Aaliyah Alleyne, Shamilia Connell, Afy fletcher, Shabika Gajnabi, Chinelle Henry, Trishan Holder, Zaida James, Djenaba Joseph, Chedean Nation, Karishma Ramharack, Shakera Selman, Stafanie Taylor and Rashada Williams. 

West Indies have been drawn in group 2 alongside England, India, Pakistan and Ireland and will travel to Cape Town this Friday ahead of the start of the tournament. 

The Caribbean side will open their account against  England, at Boland Park, on February 11 at 9am Eastern Caribbean and 8am Jamaica time)

Newlands, Cape Town; Boland park, Paarl and St. George’s park and Gqeberha are the host venues for the tournament.  

Both semi-finals will be played in Cape town, on February 23rd and 24th respectively, with the final also set for Cape Town on February 26
