Ten people arrested following joint police/military operation in Portland

Ten people were were taken into police custody following a joint police/military operation in Portland.

One man wanted on warrant was arrested and 14 other people processed.

Deputy Superintendent of Police in Charge of Operations in Portland, Troyville Haughton said the Prospect fishing village was targeted during the operation on Friday (November 27), which focused on breaches of the Spirit License Act.

He is urging people to seek information and follow the guidelines on applying for a spirit license.

Meantime, DSP Haughton said some people were found in breach of the Disaster Risk Management Act regarding Covid guidelines
