Out in the desert of the middle east where the heat tends to rise to unbearable proportions, where camels and palm trees are evident as part of the flora and fauna, the Special Olympic World Games Abu Dhabu 2019 in these United Arab Emirates have taken on Jamaican style of flair that reminds us a yaad and abroad that ‘wi likkle but we tallawah’.

Tallawah in that we are competitive by nature and these 73 Special Olympic Athletes wearing the national colours are in the Arabic term an yeshar fe monzel meaning to feel at home.

This as Bocce, Badminton, male and female volleyball players, along with the swimmers and athletics all had their prelinmaries today, just pushing at full blast for the real competition.

Meanwhile the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) today announced that it has completed preparations for the upcoming Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019, set to run under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, will host 11 indoor categories – the highest number of all venues this year – including badminton, basketball, judo, table tennis and volleyball
