Third COVID-19 patient dies, confirmed cases now up to 44

Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton confirmed Jamaica’s third COVID-19 related death today (April 1).

 

Dr. Tufton indicated that the patient is a male from Westmoreland who had underlying conditions.

 

He gave the update at a digital press briefing this afternoon.

 

 

The Minister also said that investigations are on-going in relation to the second person who died.

 

 

Meantime, the country has recorded 44 confirmed coronavirus cases, to date.

 

Dr. Tufton said 6 positive test results were confirmed from the latest batch of tests.

 

 

He pointed out that all 6 news cases are from Cornpiece, in Clarendon.
