Traffic is now able to flow smoothly along several corridors in the corporate area, following flooding caused by heavy rainfall, this afternoon (September 9).
Earlier today, the Jamaica Constabulary Force, JCF issued an advisory urging motorists to proceed with caution along sections of the Spanish Town and Chesterfield main roads and the Marcus Garvey Drive due to large amounts of debris.
Some businesses along Marcus Garvey Drive were also affected by the flood waters.
Head of Operations at the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch, P-STEB, Superintendent Courtney Coubrie says with the collaboration of the National Works Agency, NWA, motorists can travel with ease.
He adds that police are maintaining a presence along the roadway to treat with peak hour traffic.
Noting that the country is experiencing increased rainfall, he is appealing to motorists to use alternative routes where possible.
