Some vendors at the Falmouth Market blocked the gates to the facility this morning, upset that they have not been given a place at the front the market.
Police have since removed the debris and normality has returned.
Chairman of the Trelawny Municipal Corporation, Colin Gager says some of the vendors are not willing to abide by the rules and standards of the corporation.
He says, some vendors have not registered and have been selling their produce in the walkway and parking lot, and the market has been overrun by some sixty cart owners, who are creating difficulties for shoppers.
Mr. Gager says only twenty cart owners will be permitted inside the market.
He says the disturbance this morning was triggered by two unregistered vendors fighting over a stall.
Mr. Gager says the corporation will be enforcing the regulations.
There are more than seven hundred spaces in the market.
