Westmoreland Central Member of Parliament George Wright was questioned by police at the Freeport Police Station in Montego Bay St James, yesterday (April 14).

Attorney-at-law Able-Don Foote had accompanied Wright to the police station.

Following the interview session, Wright left the station.

Wright was reportedly questioned in relation to an alleged assault incident, a video of which has gone viral on social media.

In the wake of public outcry at the video, the police expressed an interest in speaking with Mr. Wright.

The Jamaica Labour Party, JLP had also urged Wright to make himself available to the police.

The Opposition had sought to have Wright suspended from Parliament, but this action was blocked by the House Speaker.
