The Education and Youth Ministry has written to an overseas-based non-profit organization to inform that the relationship between the two has been terminated with immediate effect.

Earlier this year, investigations revealed that at a member of the organisation with adverse conclusions as to his relations with children was engaged by the Child Protection and Family Services Agency, CPFSA.

Acting on that information portfolio minister Fayval Williams instructed the CPFSA to disconnect all relations with the person in question and carry out necessary investigations.

Giving the update on the matter during a post cabinet press briefing this morning, (April 14) Mrs. Williams said the ministry wrote to the organisation about severing ties.

She adds that the CPFSA will vacate a premises it has been leasing from “Embracing Orphans” in 90 days as per the lease agreement.

She says further investigations have also been ordered.
