Two Teens Among Five Arrested for Guns

Two teens are among five people taken into police custody following the seizure of two firearms in separate incidents on Monday.

In the first incidentt, about midday in Barclay District, St. Mary, an operation was conducted, during which a premises was searched and a homemade firearm was found.

Two teenagers and three men were arrested in connection with the seizure.

They remain in custody as investigations continue.

Their identities are being withheld.

In the other incident, about 6:00 p.m., the Spanish Town police in St. Catherine conducted an operation in the new nursery area.

They searched an abandoned building and found a Smith and Wesson 9 millimetre pistol and two magazines—one containing two 9 millimetre rounds of ammunition.

No one was arrested.
