Grief counselling being offered to JCF following suspected suicide of cop

Grief counselling is being offered to members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, (JCF), following the suspected suicide of a police officer in St. Catherine, on Monday evening.

Dead is inspector Enroy Madourie, of Finchley Road, White Water Meadows in the parish.

Reports are that at about 9: 30 pm, lawmen were summoned, and Madourie’s body was seen with a gunshot wound to the head.

Head of the area 5 police, Assistant Commissioner of Police Gary Griffiths told Irie Fm news that grief counselling has started for the Enhanced Security Measures unit, where inspector Madourie worked.

ACP Griffiths said Madourie is the fourth cop from the unit to die, since last year.

The other three died in a shooting incident.

 

 

ACP Griffiths said he was surprised by reports of the incident, noting that the inspector did not display any sign of being suicidal.

 

 

He is urging persons who are going through difficult times, to seek professional help.
