Police investigation in progress after Grenadian Javelin gold medalist Anderson Peters assaulted

A police investigation is now underway in Grenada after videos appeared on social media of World Championships Javelin gold medalist Anderson Peters being physically assaulted by a group of trinidadian men on a boat and thrown into the water.

The incident took place last night while Anderson was aboard the vessel harbour master……a popular party boat that frequents Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago and several other Eastern Caribbean Islands.

In the video Anderson, who is regarded as a national icon in Grenada, was surrounded by several men, said to be crew members of the vessel.

The 24 year old who was subsequently thrown to the floor and then pushed off the boat, later received medical attention for minor injuries.

Several crew members of the said vessel are in police custody assisting with investigations.

Peters, who won the gold medal in the men’s Javelin at the World Championships in Eugene, Oregon, was recently in action at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham where he came away with the silver medal.
